Review Policy
Last updated August 18, 2026
We want to be direct about this rather than vague: Home Pros Guru does not yet have a published homeowner review-and-rating system. This page explains what "approval" does and doesn't mean today, what to do if you have a concern about a contractor right now, and how we intend to approach reviews once that feature ships.
1. Approval Is Not a Review
Every contractor on this site has been through our internal approval process (described in our Contractor Membership Agreement) which checks that a listing is a real, reachable business and isn't a duplicate or impersonation. That is a vetting step performed by our team, not a rating or review left by a past customer. Don't read "Verified" or "Approved" on a listing as a substitute for checking references or reviews on other platforms. Treat it as one input among several.
2. If You Have a Concern About a Contractor Today
If you've had a bad experience with a listed contractor, tell us. Reach out through our Contact page or email support@homeprosguru.com with what happened. We look into every report and can flag, suspend, or remove a listing where the facts support it, under the standards in our Contractor Membership Agreement. We aren't able to mediate or resolve financial or contractual disputes between you and a contractor directly. For that, your agreement with the contractor and, where needed, local consumer protection resources are the right path.
3. What We're Building Toward
A verified review system (where only homeowners who actually engaged a listed contractor can leave feedback) is planned for a future version of the Platform. When it ships, our intent is: reviews tied to a real account, not anonymous; no ability for a contractor to purchase or remove a genuine review; a clear process for a contractor to respond publicly to a review; and a moderation process to catch fake, retaliatory, or off-topic submissions. This section describes direction, not a shipped feature. Check back here for updates as it gets built, or ask us directly.
4. Changes to This Policy
We'll update this page, including its title and content, once the review system is live, and note the "Last updated" date accordingly.
